The mind is a powerful thing. What we believe has a significant impact on everything that we do. In this episode, Kevin shares how your beliefs affect your success.
Kevin Daisey (00:01):
Your beliefs affect your success. What’s up everybody? Kevin Daisey here. So this is a big one. This really impacts everything that you’re doing. It’s your belief. And there’s a thing actually Brandon Dawson, who we follow and we are working with is a belief lid. So it’s basically, you know, the, the concept is there’s a belief that you have your beliefs and there’s a, there’s a lid, there’s a top, right? There’s, it caps out at some point. And so the higher your belief in certain things, categories, yourself, whatever, the more likely you are to be successful at that. So let’s just take some examples, and I’ll explain each one of these to you. But think about these things for yourself. The mind is a powerful thing. So you start a new company, if your belief deep down is that it’s not gonna work, or you think you can only get to, you know, a hundred thousand dollars in revenue, or you think you can only get to a million in revenue, a hundred million in revenue, whatever it might be, then you’re, you’re capping yourself and you’re not gonna probably achieve nowhere near above that.
So your beliefs are, you know, holding you back. If you don’t think you can deliver a certain product, certain quality in a certain timeframe you don’t believe that. Like, say for me, if I don’t believe it, when I go to sell someone on a service, we offer, and this has happened in the past, and I don’t believe our company, our team can provide a really excellent result. And this has happened before, then sales gets pulled back and we have no confidence and we don’t wanna sell it. And then we’re not gonna sell anything. It’s gonna come through in the whole process that, you know, versus, Hey, my team is fricking amazing. They can crush it. I’ve seen ’em do it. My, my whole attitude and confidence goes through the roof and they can feel it and sense that, and I sell a lot more stuff.
So everything, saving money, I don’t believe I can do it. Well, you’re probably not gonna do it. Or again, capping yourself. Well, I, I think I could, you know, save a thousand or a hundred dollars a month. You, you gotta think bigger. Set your mind to it. Have a belief that you could do it. So think about the things that, where you, you have a low belief and either try to work on those things or maybe not, maybe they’re not as important. Maybe it is what it is. But how do you, how do you raise your belief on these certain categories, things that are affect you every day? If you have a hundred, you know, 10 out of 10 belief I can, this is a hundred percent can do it. No doubt. Those are the things that you’re gonna be most successful at. So
Kevin Daisey (02:58):
Running race a marathon, if you believe you can’t do it, and everyone’s telling you you can’t do it, and it’s gonna be too hard, you haven’t trained, then there’s a pretty good chance that you either bail out or you just can’t complete it. So what are the things that you do have a hundred percent belief in? Make a list of those things, but what are some of the things that you’re just, you’re not really sure about? Maybe it’s the service you offer. Maybe it’s your team. Maybe it’s a, a client that’s too big that you just don’t think you can work with. And we’ve done this so many times. I do it all the time still. Oh yeah, there’s this one law firm, man, there’s huge, We can never work with them. Or it’d be a long time before we can work some with someone like that.
And so that’s, that’s a belief cap. We’re cap in ourselves. Instead of saying, Why aren’t I not working with us? Like, they should be working with us instead of, Oh, they’re, they’re too big for us, We can’t work with them. So change your beliefs. Make a list of the things that you, you feel, you know, you’re not confident in, and figure out how you can raise those up. What can you work on? You know, fix the things that you have a a low belief on and it will change how you do things. And again, the mind’s a powerful thing. Once you have that strong belief, you’re gonna do the things that are necessary to make it happen.
