Kevin Daisey (00:01):
Work your power base. What’s up everybody. This is Kevin Daisey. When’s the last time that you reached out to your close friends, relatives, what you would call your power base. These are people that, you know, people you’ve done work with colleagues, friends, business, acquaintances, you know past friends, high school classmates, whatever people, you know, that you have a relationship with. When’s the last time you reached out to every single one of them to let them know what you do, odds are you haven’t. And I know I haven’t, and I haven’t even begun to, to try to work that we just assume because of social media, everyone knows what we’re up to. And so I’ve talked about this before, but you can make a list, start to figure out who, you know, that might know your potential client. Now, for us, we’re niched into working with law firms and it’s so it’s easy to say, well, not a lot of people are gonna know the owners of law firms.
And so you, you talk yourself out of doing it, but at the end of the day, you have no idea. I was in a room the other day full of folks about 30 or 40 people for a networking breakfast. I don’t really network anymore because it’s usually not gonna render me a result, but I wanted to go to this breakfast mainly just to get outta the house and, and go see people before I went off to my office. It makes me in a better mood. I like going out and meeting people. So I was like, well, I’ll have a good breakfast and I’ll meet some people and I’ll go carry on about my day. Well, I just happened to mention, of course, when I stood up with a microphone that I helped law firms grow through digital marketing. And the only lawyer in the group came right up to me and said, Hey, here’s my card.
Let’s talk. And it’s a personal injury attorney who owns two firms and we’re actually having lunch next week. So you just never know who people know. You never know who’s in the room, but if you can get your message very clear and precise, then your power base is much easier to communicate with. Hey, did you know that I’m helping law firms grow through marketing? Do you know any law firm owners versus, Hey, I do digital marketing. You know, anyone they need help. They’re not gonna think of anybody, but if you say, do you know a lawyer who may need help, that’s a much better chance. So, you know, reduce down your, your message, make it clear and easy for them to think about one person and then start calling your power base message them, send them a text message and email how are reading to do it, get on the phone and call them. And that’s gonna result in at least them knowing what you do. So if they don’t have someone right now, maybe they run into someone next week and your message is so precise and clear that they say, oh, I know someone that does that. So worker power base, create a list and get your message out there.
