Erik J. Olson (00:01):
Should you travel to see clients in person what’s happening. This is Erik J. Olson in a post COVID world. We are still glued to our laptop screens and taking all of our meetings from our office. Instead of going to see our clients now for us here at Array Digital, we picked up an awful lot of new clients during COVID. It was a good period for us and all of those, we started the relationship relationship through zoom meetings. Actually, Google meet the same thing with video phone calls, and then those relationships, if they continued, they would become clients. And all the work was done over the computer. We have some clients, some of our biggest clients actually we’ve never actually met no one from our company’s ever met anyone from their company, not once. So one of the things that Kevin and I are doing right now is we are actively seeing, you know, scheduling meetings with our clients, whether they’re local or not just this past week on Wednesday, I flew from Norfolk, Virginia to Washington, DC to have three meetings.

Erik J. Olson (01:10):
Two of them were client meetings. One of them was personal, but I flew up there for the day, even though it’s only about a four hour drive away, but I could get a lot of meetings in high quality meetings with clients in a very short amount of time and get back home, to sleep in my own bed. That’s why I flew. But the point is I made the time and effort. I dedicated an entire day, a long day, by the way, in order to meet with these clients. So should you do it? Absolutely. It is critical that you show up in person at some point and meet these clients that you’ve met online, that you signed online, that you’re servicing online. They need to see you in person. And it makes a big difference, especially when you’re sitting there having a conversation with them. And it goes off on a tangent and you start talking about personal stuff.

Erik J. Olson (02:01):
That’s a good thing. Now, you don’t wanna do that in every meeting. You don’t wanna do that hardly in any meetings where you just kind of like talk about, but these are meet and greet meetings. And the whole point is to have a meaningful conversation with people and to get to know them, take the time, take the effort, spend the money, go fly to see your clients. You go to them. They don’t come to you. You go to them and bond with them. It doesn’t have to be a long meeting. These two meetings I was telling you about. I did on Wednesday an hour each that’s it. You can take ’em to lunch if you want, but even that’s unnecessary, but the point is spend some time with them. You don’t necessarily need to talk about tasking. You need to get to know them, travel to see your clients.
