A lot of times in business, you have to counter between making a profit and growing your company. Some companies have the best of both worlds but unfortunately, we are not one of those companies. We are in the early stages of growth and in order to maintain that growth, we have to cut our profits.
We’ve been 100% focused on digital marketing for over two years now and though we started with one person doing all aspects of digital marketing, we have hired quite a few people that specialize in different aspects of digital marketing. We’ve expanded to 2 web developers and that digital marketing manager, Jake, needed a lot of specialists that report to him. We only have 12 people but it was a quick upgrade and it required money, of course, namely the profits we’ve made from our clients.
Kevin and Erik decided to defer profit for a couple of quarters to continue making the additions to the team that were necessary to take on more work. So they’re making salary but not that additional profit. It’s more important right now to grow the company and then hopefully later, the profits will come.
