Erik J. Olson (00:01):
Always try to think about who needs to be involved in this decision. What is happening? This is Erik J. Olson. You know, I, I, I make this mistake a lot and I’ve made it recently actually on a pretty big scale, actually. So what I mean by that is I’ve made a couple decisions where I, I just, I just made them and then I would backfill some other people in my life about these decisions. Sometimes personal, sometimes professional, but like I have a, I have a bad habit actually of in the moment taking action, making the decision and going forward without consulting with people who really deserve and need to be consulted with on, on different things. So this happens a lot in business and, and most of the time about business here, business decisions, but but there can be repercussions throughout your life.
And I, I think it’s important. It’s important for me to remember that, like there there’s pros and cons with take action very quickly. Right? So with I’m I’m programmed to take action very quickly, cuz number one, I, I just, I, I can’t stand waiting. I just like when I know something needs to be done, I just want to get on with it and do it. And I think the longer that you wait, the more at a disadvantage you are. And I think a lot of times in business, people are paralyzed and won’t make a decision and, and I’m just the opposite. I wanna make decisions very quickly and move forward, but sometimes that’s at a cost. And so what I need to do, and you may be in the same situation as well is before making a big decision, I’ve gotta like stop and think, who else do I need to bring in on this?
Right. Who would be pissed, insulted surprised, shocked let down if I made this decision and didn’t bring them in on it now in, in the end, we may end up, you know, I, I may, I may just need to tell someone I may need to actually like, kind of get their permission. Right. But it certainly, I need to like consult with people before I take action. And we’re getting to a point here at Array Digital and Rival Digital and and in other places, in my VI, in, in my life where it makes sense to consult with people before I just take action. So I’ve gotta remember to do that. So look, there’s pros and cons with being action focused. I’m sharing with you con and I’m sharing with you that that’s actually a problem for me and I’m working on it. So something to keep in mind, you know, you should always take action. You should take massive action. I do believe in that, but you can stop for a minute or maybe a day and you can consult with the people who need to be consulted with before you go take massive action.
