You want to bring people into your organization that are smarter than you and know the product or service better than you or at least can get there. You also want to hire the people that tell you no or challenge you at important times. You also want your team to challenge you on strategy and come up with great new ideas.
We want our team to question what we’re doing and push back if they think it’s not in our best interest. When you’re hiring team members, make sure they can give pushback when necessary and won’t just robotically do what you’re telling them to. Now, you don’t always have to do what they say but encourage them to continue to do that.
