It’s the start of 2021 and time for people to set New Years Resolutions. Erik got serious about resolutions in 2019. He set out a goal to run 1,000 miles that year and he did it. For 2020 he set a goal to compete in a half Ironman and he did that. He also set some business goals that weren’t quite accomplished, but we got that much closer to achieving them.
The trick to setting good goals for the year is to make a plan for them. It’s easy to lose sight of a goal if it isn’t specific or measurable. Erik recommends getting very specific about your goals, making a plan for how to achieve them, and then tracking them on a regular basis. He’s also a fan of telling people that will help keep you accountable.
Erik has a couple of goals this year: Shave 36 minutes off his Ironman time, get 6-pack abs by his birthday in June, take a big family vacation, and get to $3.5 million in annual recurring revenue.
